Great 3 item plate plus porridge/rice for only $12. Usually get the eggplant, soy sauce chicken, and mapo tofu. Big portions too
I love coming here when I crave a good home-cooked meal but am too lazy to cook. You get unlimited hot porridge and you can choose from a wide variety of entrees to go with it. My go-tos are the pig ear and ground pork! Since everything is already made, you can basically order and eat right away. The ladies here are also very nice and they would gladly refill the porridge for you. If porridge is not your thing, you can also opt for rice instead.
They also have to-go deals which is perfect for your sick days!
Great place for a quick bite or fast takeout. We usually like to get their porridge with 3 item combo. We also enjoy the basil eggplant and kung pao chicken dishes. Service is always friendly and fast.
I've been coming to Yu's Garden for over a decade now. It is a very small restaurant that does provide full service dining. They have recently updated their interior dine-in tables & chairs!
Yu's Garden is one of the very few Chinese restaurant in this area that offers a food bar with an array of cold or hot fast-food to choose from for take-out or dine-in. Sam Woo To-Go is gone & the one located inside 99 Ranch Market off on Culver is medio-core. If you do the to-go item combo selection from the food bar just know that who you get serving you - the food portioning they give is a hit or miss. Just know they do NOT pack the box to overflow. IMO - they aren't consistent but just decent on portion giving. With the combo you do get a choice of steamed white rice or sweet yam porridge.
Food is pretty comforting & authentic. It is my fav go-to spot for my Chinese food fix! Although prices has gone up all across the board, Yu's Garden prices are pretty fair. Even their menu items & not the combo items.
Lately, instead of doing the combo items to-go I've been phone ordering ahead for items off their menu. First reason, due to the hot summer weather I have noticed flies flying around within the establishment. I'm just going to leave it at that :P Second reason, I feel the portion that they do give is much better. Rice is NOT included & it's additional cost I think $1.50. My fav menu items are: Boiled intestine with hot sauce, Fish fillet with bean sauce & Beef with curry sauce. I will definitely be back to order other items off their menu.

I've been coming to this local spot for a few years now for quick, casual, and convenient authentic Chinese meals. Great news - they've UPGRADED their dine-In chairs and tables. Seats have leather cushions now!
Their lunch & dinner takeouts from the food bar are most popular. So many authentic Chinese food selections, from hot to cold dishes. Prices have inflated: as of 2023, lunch special is $10.50 for 2 items and a dollar more at $11.50 for 3 items. Comes with rice. My go to is green veggies, sliced chicken, and mapo tofu, which they put in separate cylindrical styrofoam container. I also like pairing my meal with their BOGO soy milk, unsweetened. Their food is a tad on the oily side but delicious nevertheless. Be careful that the sauce and oil doesn't drip or spill outside your to-go bag.
Just for the cushy chairs, I recently decided to dine-in :) Just kidding, I was craving Beef Noodle Soup... but they were OUT of ingredients/shipment didn't arrive! WHAAA... happened twice now over the summer :( Tried their pork crispy noodles, scallion pancakes, and pork with bamboo shoot dishes instead. Scallion pancakes were crispy warm but didn't come with a dip. The other two pork dishes were delicious, just a little salty in the sauce. Dine-in comes with tea in the pot, which was nice for a cloudy day.
Tables best suitable for groups of 2-4. Bring cash, since credit card has service charge.
Daily food when you feel lazy to cook. Tasty, fast service and taste like homemade. Reasonable price! I have been going here for many years and the food is still the same delicious taste.
For Chinese fast food the flavors here are solid!!! I've been coming a here for a few years now and honestly, the flavors, the portions, and the price can't be beat!
Came here by accident, but glad I did the lady behind the counter was super nice and helpful. The 3 meal combo was only $13 and comes with rice or congee. Its a great value as the rice comes seperate so you are getting the entree in the container. They've got great items like tripe and pigs ear. Not the boring typical asian selection. I will definitely be back to try some of the other entrees.
